| Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming educational landscapes, introducing both significant opportunities and profound uncertainties. This study utilizes the methodologies of strategic foresight and scenario planning to systematically explore the potential futures of Artificial Intelligence in Education (AIEd) over the next decade (2025–2035). Through a qualitative research design involving horizon scanning, participatory workshops, and semi-structured interviews with teachers, administrators, and policymakers, the research identifies key drivers—such as teacher engagement and policy alignment—and critical uncertainties—including equitable access and ethical governance. The analysis culminated in the construction of three distinct, plausible scenarios: "Collaborative AI Integration," where human-AI partnership thrives; "Technologically Driven Autonomy," characterized by high automation with emerging risks; and "Constrained AI Adoption," where fragmentation exacerbates inequity. These scenarios illuminate the diverse pathways that educational systems may follow, emphasizing that outcomes depend not merely on technological capability but on strategic, human-centric choices. The study concludes that proactive, scenario-based foresight is an essential tool for educational stakeholders to anticipate disruptions, prioritize interventions, and develop resilient, equitable, and adaptable strategies for navigating the complex integration of AI, thereby ensuring it enhances rather than undermines core educational values. |
